[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 14th that it will introduce a new commercial for its OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) TV.
The new LG OLED TV commercial, titled "Colors of Humanity," showcases the diverse colors and beauty of everyday life that humanity has carried on for a long time, through the overwhelming picture quality of the OLED TV. It features daily scenes imbued with traditions from eight countries around the world.
This commercial conveys the message that LG OLED TV is optimal for viewing the beauty of colors. It emphasizes the gallery design where the TV is completely flush against the wall by integrating the screen, driving components, speakers, and wall-mount parts. It also introduces LG OLED TV’s unique form factor innovations, such as the wallpaper design with a thickness of 3.85 millimeters (mm), making it look like a painting attached to the wall, and the world’s first rollable screen that can be rolled and unrolled.
The 60-second video begins with a woman watching the "LG OLED Gallery TV." The following scenes show traditional natural dyeing techniques from Indonesia.
The screen passes over fields drying colorful cloths and reaches mountains, which then transform into powder on the hand of a girl participating in India’s Holi festival. The Holi festival is an event where participants wear colorful clothes and throw paint and colored powder on each other. It is one of India’s oldest festivals and is nicknamed the Festival of Colors. The colors continue with scenes from a fishing village in Thailand and everyday life in Bangladesh, known as the "Land of Rivers."
The screen then rolls down on the LG OLED Rollable TV, reversing the mood. It proudly displays vivid colors seen in the colorful patterns of an Islamic mosque, an Ethiopian woman walking while holding a lantern, a strawberry farm in Turkey, and a Vietnamese farmer drying traditional incense sticks.
LG OLED TV has no backlight, so each pixel emits its own light and can be freely controlled to express picture quality more delicately. The company emphasized that it is recognized by many customers and experts as the undisputed best TV currently available.
LG Electronics has attracted attention every year with LG OLED TV commercials featuring sensuous visuals. In the past two years, it has aired TV commercials showing the mysterious appearance of the Earth and majestic natural landscapes.
Kyungah Park, Executive Director of Brand Communication at LG Electronics, said, "We produced this commercial to convey that customers can feel the beauty they see with their own eyes through the overwhelming picture quality of LG OLED TV."
