Meet Geumcheon-gu Residents' Informatization Education on YouTube!

Geumcheon-gu to Hold First Course from June 8 to 19, New Courses Open Every 2 Weeks... Real-Time Attendance via YouTube Without Prior Registration

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will operate the offline regular course online following the online special lecture on citizen informatization education held on the 22nd of last month.

The district decided to flexibly operate online and offline education, judging that the ability to use digital devices is more necessary as the COVID-19 pandemic prolongs.

Unlike the offline education conducted over 4 weeks, the online citizen informatization education will be operated as a total of 10 sessions, 2 hours each day for 2 weeks.

In the first course, held from the 8th to the 19th, three lectures will be offered: ‘Beginner Hangul 2010’, ‘Basic Strong Smartphone’, and ‘Getting Familiar with Win10’. New courses will be opened every two weeks thereafter.

Any resident who wishes to attend can watch the lectures via YouTube live streaming without prior registration. Q&A is also possible through chat during viewing.

Detailed timetables for each course can be found on the Geumcheon-gu Office education portal site. Future education schedules will also be announced through the site.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “In modern society, lacking digital device skills leads to deprivation of social participation opportunities. Even during the infectious disease outbreak, we will strive to provide diverse and substantial informatization education to the information-vulnerable groups to bridge the digital divide between classes.”
