Geumcheon-gu Recruiting Job Counselors and Administrative Support Staff

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is recruiting 8 people for the second half of the year as ‘Career Counselors and Administrative Assistants’ to discover potential job seekers among low-income groups and provide customized job counseling services to vulnerable employment groups.

Applicants must be able to work, aged between 18 and under 65 as of the project start date, and hold a career counselor certificate or a computer certificate related to Excel.

The number of recruits by field is 6 for the ‘Visiting Job Counseling Desk,’ 1 for the ‘Job Center Support Staff,’ and 1 for the ‘Hope Job Project Support Staff.’

Applicants for the ‘Visiting Job Counseling Desk’ must have a ‘Career Counselor Certificate,’ while applicants for the other fields need an ‘Excel-related computer certificate.’

Those who wish to participate can download the application form from the ‘Notices and Announcements’ section on the Geumcheon-gu Office website by June 12, fill it out, and submit it in person along with the required documents to the Job Creation Division on the 9th floor of Geumcheon-gu Office.

The district office will individually notify applicants of the document screening results on June 15, conduct in-depth interviews on June 18, and announce the final successful candidates on June 22.

Additional points will be given to applicants who are Geumcheon-gu residents or youth (aged 18 to 34 as of the announcement date).

The final selected candidates will work from July 1 to December 20 at the Job Creation Division of Geumcheon-gu Office and the Job Center within the G-Valley Enterprise Support Center in Gasan-dong, performing tasks such as ‘Visiting Job Counseling Desk,’ ‘Discovering Hiring Companies,’ and ‘Job Matching between Job Seekers and Hiring Companies.’

Working hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and wages are 76,000 KRW per day, including a 5,000 KRW snack allowance. Paid holidays for public offices and weekly/annual leave allowances apply, and enrollment in the four major social insurances is mandatory.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “To overcome the COVID-19 crisis, we will continue to activate the stagnant local economy by discovering various job projects through public jobs via career counselors and establishing a public-private cooperation system.”
