CCTV Footage Released Showing Deputy Prosecutor Arrested for Forcibly Molesting Woman Late at Night

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] It has been revealed that the current Chief Prosecutor A, who was arrested on charges of forcibly molesting a woman late at night on the street, engaged in the molestation and misconduct for over 20 minutes, indicating the severity of the incident.
The scene of Chief Prosecutor A’s molestation was fully captured on CCTV and released to the media, sparking a wave of public criticism.
According to footage released on the 5th by the Busan police and media, a man followed a woman in front of a store in Yangjeong-dong, Busanjin-gu, Busan, around 11:20 p.m. on the 1st, and grabbed her shoulder as she stopped at a crosswalk.
Startled, the woman turned around, and the man staggered as if intoxicated, waving his hands, then took off his jacket and immediately crossed the crosswalk following the woman.
The man followed her for about 700 meters and entered a hamburger restaurant near Busan City Hall Station after the woman went inside.
It is known that the man continued to harass the woman inside the restaurant. Eventually, the woman reported the incident to 112 around 11:40 p.m. that day. The man had followed her along the nighttime street for about 20 minutes, roughly the length of one subway line 1 course, causing her great distress.
The police who arrived listened to the woman’s statement, arrested the man on the spot, and put him in a patrol car. The man was transferred to the Busanjin Police Station, investigated, and then released.
The man was a current Chief Prosecutor affiliated with the Busan District Prosecutors’ Office.
The Busan District Prosecutors’ Office stated, “The prosecutor is actively cooperating with the police investigation and we are internally verifying the facts. We will take strict action based on the results.”
The Chief Prosecutor has continued to attend work normally since that day, and it is known that the Busan District Prosecutors’ Office has not taken any special measures so far.
The police stated, “The Busanjin Police Station is investigating, and we cannot disclose detailed information about the case or charges in accordance with relevant regulations.”
