Imsil Cheese Theme Park Creates Gujeolcho Theme Park with Over Ten Million Chrysanthemum Flowers

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] This fall, visitors will be able to enjoy a more abundant and beautifully arranged Gujeolcho Hill at the Imsil Cheese Theme Park.

Imsil County announced on the 5th that it has created an approximately 0.6-hectare urban forest within the Cheese Theme Park to provide visitors with rich sights and beautiful healing scenery.

This Gujeolcho urban forest was established near the Wind Hill, where the Cheese Theme Park observatory is located, with a total project cost of about 170 million KRW.

Especially this year, as part of the urban forest creation project, the Gujeolcho Hill has been expanded. During the Cheese Festival period, ten million chrysanthemums and Gujeolcho will be showcased together. In addition to 100,000 Gujeolcho plants, 17 evergreen pine trees and 2,000 brightly colored azaleas (Yeongsanhong) were planted.

Walking paths and benches have been installed among the pine trees to provide visitors who come to the Cheese Theme Park with a comfortable green resting place, as if walking along a forest trail.

After the planting project is completed, the county will sequentially carry out maintenance work such as fertilization to support Gujeolcho growth, weed removal that harms tree growth, and watering to prepare for heatwaves, managing the planted species carefully.

In the autumn when the Imsil N Cheese Festival is held, tourists visiting Imsil County are expected to experience the subtle colors and scents of Gujeolcho, offering a natural landscape full of autumnal atmosphere.

This will further enhance the visual enjoyment of the festival, imprinting an image of Imsil that everyone wants to revisit. The Imsil N Cheese Festival is scheduled to be held for the sixth time over four days from October 8 to 11 around the Imsil Cheese Theme Park.

Meanwhile, since its inception during the 6th local government administration, the Imsil N Cheese Festival has attracted around 400,000 visitors nationwide and has established itself as the only cheese-themed festival, selected for three consecutive years as a representative festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

County Governor Shim Min said, “Every fall, many people from across the country visit the Imsil Cheese Theme Park and are captivated by the beautiful scenery, including over ten million chrysanthemum flowers. With the Gujeolcho Hill becoming even more abundant, not only the festival but throughout the autumn, many tourists will visit the Cheese Theme Park to enjoy the floral feast and purchase delicious cheese, which will greatly contribute to the local economy.”
