Jeong Gwang-ho, Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Member, "Living Distance Safety Starts with the Provincial Safety Office"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeonnam Provincial Council announced on the 5th that Assemblyman Jeong Gwangho strongly criticized the complacent 'social and daily distancing' of the Provincial Safety Office before the main questioning during the review of the 342nd Jeonnam Provincial Council Safety Construction Firefighting Committee's budget and settlement.

Assemblyman Jeong Gwangho pointed out before the review of the 2019 fiscal year Provincial Safety Office's settlement and supplementary budget expenditure held on the 3rd, "In the COVID-19 situation, the control tower of Jeonnam Province is the Provincial Safety Office," and added, "At this point when social distancing has shifted to daily distancing, the disaster control tower, the Provincial Safety Office, is only practicing 'distancing' in words."

The 40 executives from three departments under the Provincial Safety Office who attended the review sat at intervals of 50cm, far less than the minimum daily distancing distance of 1 to 2 meters.

Assemblyman Jeong Gwangho said, "Safety rules require not just verbal practice but practice ingrained in the body," and urged, "From today onwards, during budget and settlement reviews, the Provincial Safety Office should cooperate with the Provincial Council to ensure that daily distancing is observed similarly in other committees."

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Provincial Council is holding the 342nd 1st regular session from the 2nd to the 17th to review the approval of the 2019 fiscal year settlement and supplementary budget expenditure and the 2nd supplementary budget for 2020.
