[Asia Economy Reporters Lee Ji-eun and Lim Chun-han] Kim Jong-in, Emergency Committee Chairman of the United Future Party, criticized the Democratic Party of Korea for unilaterally electing the Speaker of the National Assembly without consultation, saying it "set a bad precedent."

On the 5th, after visiting the President of the Constitutional Association of the Republic of Korea at the National Assembly, Chairman Kim said in a back briefing, "In a legislature, the ruling and opposition parties must coexist first."

He pointed out, "This was an opportunity for cooperation that could have happened once, but it was carried out unilaterally," adding, "In my view, it will cause a very difficult situation for quite some time."

Regarding the remaining negotiations, including standing committee chairpersons, he said, "I think our floor leader will negotiate with the other party, but right now, their intimidating attitude is very apparent," and added, "Since they currently hold an overwhelming majority with 177 seats, they are acting arrogantly, which I consider an unwise stance."
