[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 5th that it conducted a joint public-private campaign to eradicate prostitution and protect youth in the Seoseong-dong prostitution district on the 4th.
About 40 participants, including three departments related to women and youth in Changwon City, the Gyeongsangnam-do Women's Policy Division, Masan Jungbu Police Station, Changwon Office of Education, and members of the Masan Happo-gu Youth Guidance Committee, appealed for citizens' empathy and participation through a street campaign.
Since last year, the city has formed a TF team to close the prostitution district and has been making every effort to promote closure by exploring reorganization plans through various methods. In particular, it plans to accelerate the closure by strengthening activities to eradicate illegal prostitution, promote the independence of women victims of prostitution, improve awareness of human rights, and protect youth within youth-restricted areas.

Through various methods such as forums on protecting the human rights of women involved in prostitution, busking campaigns to eradicate prostitution, and violence prevention education, it aims to build a social consensus.
