[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will disclose water-related information within the province to the public.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 5th that it will launch the 'Gyeonggi-do Water Information System (https://water.gg.go.kr)' to provide practical water information to residents and to utilize it for water quality policies.
This system consists of two parts: resident services and administrative services.
The resident services section is a space where anyone can conveniently search and use water information related to daily life that is of high interest to the general public. It includes ▲Water Information in Daily Life ▲Paldang Observatory ▲Resident Participation Hot Information ▲Map Service ▲Environmental Knowledge and Environmental Terms.
Water Information in Daily Life is a space that gathers all water-related information connected to everyday life, where users can view information such as tap water at home, safe water play facilities, local mineral springs, and beautiful waterways.
Tap water at home allows users to check water quality information of the nearest water purification plant to their home. Safe water play facilities provide information on locations where water play is possible near the home, operating periods, water quality test results, photos, and more.
Local mineral springs can be searched for potable mineral springs and confirmed through photos and maps.
Beautiful waterways allow users to find pleasant waterside walking trails around them, such as walking paths, ecological streams, and wetlands.
Paldang Observatory offers an introduction to the Paldang Observatory and allows group tour applications. Currently, the observatory is temporarily closed due to COVID-19 and can be used again once it reopens.
The administrative services are designed for officials responsible for water-related administrative tasks in the provincial and city/county governments.
Lee Young-jong, head of the Water Resources Headquarters of the province, said, "This project aims to gather water-related information in one place to easily provide and utilize practical information that helps residents in their daily lives." He added, "We expect that officials in charge will actively use it, making it a starting point for systematic and efficient water management within the province."
