[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] Cho Bonghwan, President of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, and employees visited Doma Big Market in Seo-gu, Daejeon on the 4th. President Cho and the employees purchased food items such as fruits and dried seafood using mobile Onnuri gift certificates and donated them to Jahyewon, a child welfare facility located in Daejeon.
Market merchants asked for continued interest in the market, which has been gradually revitalizing recently due to emergency disaster relief funds and other support.
President Cho said, "Traditional markets nationwide have gone through very difficult times due to COVID-19, but after visiting about 10 traditional markets from May until recently, I saw that the number of visitors has actually increased significantly. We will support continuous sales growth through joint marketing events like the Korea Together Sale and the activation of Onnuri gift certificates."
Before visiting the traditional market, President Cho paid respects at the National Daejeon Cemetery. On the occasion of Memorial Day on the 6th, he and the employees honored the spirits of the patriotic martyrs and war heroes.
