[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP), together with Incheon City, will conduct an on-site survey to build a manufacturing company database (DB) until September.
The DB construction on-site survey is part of the project to establish and operate a manufacturing cooperation service platform between companies. The DB containing information on small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in the Incheon area will be linked with private platforms and used to support prototype and product manufacturing and mass production.
Incheon TP plans to build a DB of 650 manufacturing companies in the Incheon area this year. Following the acquisition of a DB of 300 companies last year, the scale is planned to increase to 1,000 companies by next year.
The DB will include company-specific data such as products produced, production facilities, specialized manufacturing technologies, maximum daily production capacity, and technical difficulties. From this year, the post-processing sector will also be newly included.
The DB survey targets small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in the Incheon area, and participation in the DB survey is conducted by sending company information via email (coco2001@itp.or.kr).
Incheon TP will provide the manufacturing company DB, which has undergone reliability verification and data updates, to online manufacturing platform companies through the shared management system, the Incheon Manufacturing Innovation Service Platform (http://imsp.or.kr). Online manufacturing platform companies will use this to connect demand companies and manufacturing companies, assisting in prototype and product manufacturing and mass production.
An Incheon TP official said, "A considerable number of small and medium-sized companies are visiting parts suppliers one by one to produce prototypes and products, putting in a lot of effort." He added, "By utilizing the online manufacturing platform service based on the manufacturing company DB, it will be possible to secure a larger pool of manufacturing companies, reduce production costs, and enhance product competitiveness."
