[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will sound a memorial siren for one minute across the entire province starting at 10 a.m. on the 6th in observance of the 65th Memorial Day.
The purpose of this siren is to hold a moment to pray for the souls of the patriotic martyrs and war heroes who devoted and sacrificed themselves to protect the homeland.
A provincial official urged, "Since this is not an air raid civil defense siren, residents are asked not to be alarmed but to join in a moment of silent prayer with a solemn heart for one minute."
