Kim Yo-jong, First Deputy Director of the Workers' Party and younger sister of North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong-un, expressed displeasure over the distribution of leaflets to North Korea by defectors and even mentioned the possibility of terminating the inter-Korean military agreement.
In a statement released on the 4th through the Korean Central News Agency, Kim Yo-jong said, "If the South Korean authorities fail to take appropriate measures, they must be fully prepared for the complete dismantling of the Kaesong Industrial Complex following the suspension of tourism to Mount Kumgang, the closure of the inter-Korean joint liaison office, or the nullification of the meaningless inter-Korean military agreement."
Kim emphasized, "If the South Korean authorities truly value the inter-Korean agreements and are determined to thoroughly implement them, they should first properly clean up the mess within their own house before blowing the horn of 'response' at us."
She added, "Before making pitiful excuses, they should enact laws to stop the clownish acts of those trash and firmly take measures to prevent such unpleasant incidents from occurring in the first place. Let me make it clear: if they continue to make excuses and let this situation persist, the South Korean authorities will have no choice but to pay a severe price."
