[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The government will distribute the 'Quarantine Manager Work Guide' on the 3rd to respond to COVID-19 in multi-use facilities, workplaces, and clubs.
Kim Kang-lip, the 1st General Coordinator of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, stated at the regular briefing held at the Government Sejong Complex on the same day, "We have prepared a Quarantine Manager Work Guide that specifically defines the tasks to be performed by quarantine managers in multi-use facilities, workplaces, and clubs."
The Quarantine Manager Work Guide concretizes the duties of quarantine managers for blocking and preventing the spread of COVID-19 within the group quarantine rules under the social distancing guidelines. After presenting the main roles of quarantine managers, it categorizes the types into multi-use facilities, workplaces, and clubs, including detailed tasks.
Quarantine managers are responsible for evaluating risk levels through the 'Quarantine Management Risk Self-Assessment Checklist' for facilities, reviewing improvement methods for risk factors, establishing quarantine guidelines, and implementing them. They periodically inspect and evaluate the implementation results of the guidelines and request improvements from community leaders if problems arise.
Coordinator Kim said, "If two to three or more symptomatic individuals occur within the same department or location within 3 to 4 days, the quarantine manager guides them to undergo diagnostic testing, and if additional symptomatic cases occur, they report the possibility of a cluster infection to the public health center."
In particular, for small gatherings such as clubs, non-face-to-face and contactless meetings are the principle during the COVID-19 situation. However, if face-to-face meetings are unavoidable, quarantine rules to be followed before, during, and after the meeting have been established.
Coordinator Kim urged, "Designated quarantine managers should perform a key role as the quarantine commanders of each community with a sense of responsibility and help ensure that the community strictly complies with quarantine rules."
