Damyang-gun to Operate 'Pregnant Women Health Class' Starting from the 9th


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 3rd that it will operate the first half of the year ‘Pregnant Women Health Class’ for pregnant women residing in the area starting from the 9th.


This health class is operated to provide safe delivery information and promote a change in perception of breastfeeding through breastfeeding education, and will be held a total of 4 times every Tuesday until the 30th at the Health Promotion Room of the Gun Health Center.


The county plans to provide various information about childbirth and childcare to participants, and through prenatal and postnatal care education for pregnant women, it also aims to promote safe delivery and the health of the fetus and mother.


On the 9th, an international breastfeeding expert will be invited to provide various information such as correct breastfeeding posture and methods, breast care, prenatal massage, and breastfeeding method practice.


Various themed programs such as pregnant women walking experience and making various childbirth supplies will also be operated.


A county official said, “We hope this program will help welcome precious new life happily and healthily,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to overcome low birth rates through various projects such as prenatal checkup services, maternal and newborn health services, and childbirth incentive support.”
