[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Homeplus announced on the 3rd that it has launched ‘Homeplus Fish Market,’ a same-day delivery service for fresh sashimi in collaboration with seafood specialist company Badajari.
If customers order sashimi products through the Homeplus shopping mall application before 2 PM, Badajari will prepare the sashimi directly at a designated store within Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market, package it, and deliver it to the customer's doorstep via a professional delivery company.
The service area is limited to Seoul and parts of Incheon excluding Ganghwa and Ongjin counties, as well as certain areas in Gyeonggi Province. In Gyeonggi Province, eligible areas include Gwangmyeong, Anyang, Bucheon, Gwacheon, Seongnam, Gimpo, Goyang (limited to Ilsan area), and Yongin (limited to Suji district). Orders placed by 2 PM on weekdays will be delivered free of charge between 6 and 8 PM on the same day without any additional quick service transportation fees or delivery tips. For weekend delivery, customers can specify the delivery date by ordering before 3 PM on Friday.
The menu consists of five types: ▲Noryangjin Ultra-Fresh Assorted Sashimi ▲Noryangjin Ultra-Fresh Assorted Sashimi ▲Noryangjin Ultra-Fresh Assorted Sashimi ▲Noryangjin Ultra-Fresh Assorted Sashimi ▲Noryangjin Lobster Assorted Sashimi. All set purchases come with seasonal seafood service along with leafy vegetables, sauces, spicy fish stew ingredients, and seasonings.
The Noryangjin Ultra-Fresh Assorted Sashimi includes four types: domestic flatfish, sea bass, red seabream, and Norwegian salmon. The sashimi is prepared from large fish weighing 2 to 3 kg or more, selected as the best sashimi of the day. Customers can leave their preferred sashimi thickness in the delivery message when ordering to enjoy sashimi cut to their liking.
Homeplus plans to continuously expand the product lineup of Homeplus Fish Market to broaden customer choices and further expand sales channels for market merchants.
Song Seungseon, head of Homeplus Mobile Business Division, said, “This service was launched to support market merchants who are struggling to open sales channels due to a decrease in market visitors caused by COVID-19 and other factors,” adding, “We hope this will also contribute to the recovery of market merchants’ sales.”
