[Express Train - Episode 83] Gyeyang Electric Expands Presence in Electric Motor Market for Automotive Applications

Gyeyang Electric manufactures motors for automobiles. Until 2008, the business structure focused on seat motors, but with the expansion of demand in new technology markets, it has expanded its business areas to include engines, transmissions, and more.

Based on excellent technological capabilities and quality standards, it supplies seat motors for mid-size and larger models of Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors in the domestic market. It is also striving to increase its market share in motors for other devices.

Patent attorney Um Jeonghan of BLT Patent Law Office reviewed Gyeyang Electric’s patent and trademark application status.

Listed companies on the domestic stock market disclose patent acquisition information through the Financial Supervisory Service’s electronic disclosure system. However, many stock investors tend to overlook patent disclosures.

Not only patents but also trademark registrations indicate the future direction of listed companies, making them one of the important indicators for assessing future corporate value. Some patent disclosures even act as a direct trigger for stock price increases.

It is not easy for general investors to understand the impact on companies through patent disclosures or to check trademark application statuses one by one. Asia Economy, together with patent attorney Um Jeonghan of BLT Patent Law Office, is reviewing the patent and trademark application statuses of listed companies through the 'Express Train' segment.

‘Express Train’ is an abbreviation for a broadcast that diligently searches for stocks surging due to patents.
