[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Suncheon Office of Education Gifted Education Center announced on the 2nd that it has officially started online remote classes to minimize learning gaps caused by COVID-19.
For this remote class, gifted education center teachers prepared in advance, including pre-training, to create necessary content and manage copyrights of works, tailored to the students' level.
Additionally, experimental and practical materials, textbooks and teaching aids, and assignment worksheets needed for remote classes were sent to each household three days prior, and the class methods and processes were pre-notified to students to make online classes interesting and enhance their motivation to learn.
The class direction focused on interactive and content-based lessons using Google Classroom and ZOOM for natural science and humanities areas, while the invention area was conducted through interactive classes using Teams and Band platforms.
Director Lee Gil-hoon said, “I hope this becomes an opportunity to get one step closer to nurturing talents equipped with 21st-century future core competencies through remote classes that utilize vivid and diverse content, considering parents' demands and students' interests,” and added, “We will further support students to enhance their creativity, spirit of challenge, and problem-solving skills.”
