Suncheon-si to Operate 2020 Eco-friendly Agriculture University Healing Agriculture Course


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City held the opening ceremony of the ‘2020 Organic Agriculture University Healing Agriculture Course’ on the 29th at the Agricultural Education Center for 43 trainees.


The opening ceremony began with an introduction to the operation method and education schedule of the healing agriculture course and respiratory disease infection prevention education as a measure to prevent COVID-19. It included a presentation of ‘Excellent Cases of Healing Farms’ by Shin Eun-sook, CEO of the healing farm ‘Tteurak’ located in Gyeongsan City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, providing trainees with time to contemplate the direction healing agriculture in Suncheon should take.


Suncheon City plans to cultivate healing agriculture experts who will lead Suncheon’s agriculture and rural areas through the ‘Healing Agriculture’ course, which covers understanding healing agriculture, promotion direction of healing tourism projects, healing experience programs using local agricultural products, understanding healing through forestry, horticulture, animals, insects, and medicinal plants, utilization of healing-type agricultural experience content, development of healing agriculture programs, and field trips.


An official from the Suncheon Agricultural Technology Center said, “We hope that all trainees participating in this education, which runs until October, will grow into healing agriculture experts,” and added, “We look forward to seeing the trainees play a significant role in the field of healing agriculture in Suncheon in the future.”


This year’s Organic Agriculture University Healing Agriculture Course started on the 29th and will be conducted once a week until October 30, consisting of a total of 18 theoretical classes and field trips.
