[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] A child was seriously injured after being bitten by a Jindo dog inside a wire fence.


Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station reported on the 2nd that at 2:03 PM on the 1st, a 3-year-old boy identified as A was bitten on the finger by a dog at a factory in Woljeon-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju.


Boy A, whose finger was severed in the accident, was transported to the hospital by the 119 ambulance and is reportedly scheduled for suturing surgery.


It is reported that while walking with his parents to take a taxi, A saw the dog and put his hand inside the wire fence, which led to the accident.


The dog that bit A is a 3-year-old Jindo dog, and the factory is known to have kept the dog in a pen made of wire mesh.


The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
