Gwangju Bank Launches Pilot of Chatbot Consultation System ‘BearBee’

Gwangju Bank Launches Pilot of Chatbot Consultation System ‘BearBee’

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Bank (President Song Jong-wook) announced on the 1st that it will pilot open the chatbot consultation system ‘BearBee’ on Smart Banking (APP) and Mobile Web Banking (web) starting from the 2nd.

The chatbot consultation system ‘BearBee’ is an AI-based automatic response system that plans to present a more advanced consultation process compared to the chat consultation system implemented in April last year.

While the existing chat consultation system involved consultations with staff via chat when customers used non-face-to-face channels (Smart Banking, Mobile Web Banking, Internet Banking), the chatbot consultation system ‘BearBee’ conducts consultations through an AI-based automatic response system instead of staff, enabling fast and accurate consultations 24/7 without waiting time.

In addition, it provides a service menu that allows customers to move directly to the relevant service along with answers to questions entered or selected by customers. Furthermore, the bank plans to build a chatbot consultation system for internal staff work consultations to assist employees in their tasks, thereby providing higher quality financial services to customers.

The chatbot consultation system ‘BearBee’ will first be piloted on Smart Banking and Mobile Web Banking, and the service will be expanded to Internet Banking within this month. Additionally, in September, the bank plans to open a ‘Visible ARS’ service to establish digital customer consultation channels.

Jung Chan-am, Head of Digital Finance Division at Gwangju Bank, said, “As the use of non-face-to-face financial channels has greatly expanded, we will do our best to provide customers using Gwangju Bank with high-quality digital financial services,” and added, “We will lead change and innovation in the rapidly changing digital era and transform into a digital bank.”
