KB Kookmin Bank Launches 'KB MyFit Account and Savings' for MZ Generation


[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 1st that it has launched customized new products for the MZ generation: the KB MyFit Account and KB MyFit Savings. The MZ generation collectively refers to the Millennials born from the early 1980s to the early 2000s and Generation Z born from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s.


This new product is part of KB Financial Group's KB MyFit package. The KB MyFit package consists of four products from KB Kookmin Bank and KB Kookmin Card. The package is designed with the concept of "the perfect financial fit for me," tailored to the tastes of the MZ generation who are familiar with digital environments and seek unique experiences.


The KB MyFit Account is a deposit account with free withdrawals available to individuals aged 18 to 38 with real-name verification. A key feature of this account is the "Money Splitting" service, which allows users to manage a single account by dividing it into basic expenses, living expenses, and emergency funds according to management purposes. Additionally, the amount separated as emergency funds offers an interest rate of 1.5% per annum on up to 2 million KRW.


The KB MyFit Savings is a savings product available to individuals aged 18 to 38 with real-name verification. Customers can freely save amounts ranging from 1,000 KRW to 500,000 KRW per month, with an interest rate of up to 2.7% per annum (including preferential rates) based on a one-year term.


The KB Kookmin Card products within the KB MyFit package include the KB Kookmin MyFit Card, which offers selectable reward-type or discount-type options based on consumer preferences, and the KB Kookmin MyFit Edition Nori Check Card (Pengyomi), a redesigned card combining Pengsoo and the KB Kookmin Nori Check Card.


To commemorate the launch of these new products, an event will be held until the end of this month. Customers can choose their preferred prizes, which will be awarded through a lottery. Detailed information is available on the KB Kookmin Bank website.


A KB Kookmin Bank official stated, "The MZ generation has established itself as a powerful financial consumer not only in the distribution market but also in the financial market," adding, "Starting with this package, we plan to continuously develop various customized products that can communicate with the MZ generation."
