Born in 1963, the new secretary-general Kim previously served as the senior deputy floor leader, Seoul city party chairman, and head of the Yeouido Research Institute. He was a member of the 18th and 20th National Assembly. In the 21st general election, he lost in Dobong-eul but currently serves as the party committee chairman for Dobong-eul. It is considered unusual to appoint an outsider as party secretary-general.

The new spokesperson Kim, born in 1971, has worked as an MBC reporter and anchor, as well as spokesperson for the Blue House presidential office. She was elected as a first-term lawmaker representing Seongnam Bundang-gap in Gyeonggi Province. The new secretary Song, a former second vice minister of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, served as the strategic planning deputy floor leader last year and was re-elected in Gimcheon City, Gyeongbuk Province.
