Investing 2 Billion Won to Develop 30-Site Camping and Auxiliary Facilities
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Pohang City, Gyeongsangbuk-do announced that it will open the Pohang National Leisure Camping Site, located at the entrance of Jungmyeong Natural Ecology Park in Jungmyeong-ri, Yeonil-eup, starting from the 1st.
The Pohang National Leisure Camping Site was established with a budget of 2 billion KRW, featuring 30 camping sites and auxiliary facilities such as shower rooms. Each individual site is equipped with electrical facilities and fire extinguishers, as well as a disaster forecast warning system and security CCTV.
Through a two-month pilot operation in November and December last year, Pohang City reinforced safety facilities including rockfall prevention installations, safety railings, and floor maintenance around drinking fountains, while also stocking safety equipment such as defibrillators and carbon monoxide detectors for emergency patients.
The camping site tent site usage fees are 35,000 KRW for weekends during the peak season in July and August (per night), and 30,000 KRW on weekdays. During the off-season, weekends cost 30,000 KRW and weekdays 25,000 KRW. For more details, please refer to the Pohang National Leisure Camping Site website.
