[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] BC Card announced on the 1st that it will implement QR payment services at Seven Eleven convenience stores operated by Korea Seven.

BC Card has completed the application of QR payment services at the five major convenience stores in Korea (GS25, CU, Seven Eleven, Emart24, Ministop), including this Seven Eleven.

'BC Paybook QR Payment' allows users to register their BC credit or check cards on the mobile simple payment application 'Paybook,' select 'QR Payment,' and scan the generated QR code with the checkout reader to complete the payment. Payments can be made using only a smartphone without a wallet.

To commemorate the launch of the QR payment service, a promotional event is also being held. Until the 30th, customers purchasing lunchbox products with QR payment at Seven Eleven will receive a 50% billing discount (up to 5,000 KRW per transaction, up to 10,000 KRW per month). Additionally, the '500 Won Discount Bear' event is ongoing until the end of August. When making QR payments of 3,000 KRW or more at BC Paybook QR affiliated stores, customers receive a billing discount of up to 500 KRW per day and up to 2,500 KRW per month. For example, purchasing a 4,000 KRW lunchbox at Seven Eleven would mean a 50% discount plus an additional 500 KRW discount, making it possible to buy it for 1,500 KRW.

Jang Gil-dong, Head of Marketing Division (Executive Director), said, "Now, 'BC Paybook QR Payment' can be conveniently used at approximately 45,000 stores nationwide across the five major convenience stores in Korea," and added, "We will continue to do our best to provide more differentiated payment service benefits."
