Guro-gu Supports Social Enterprises with Business Development Funding

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) will support business development expenses for social enterprises in the region.

On the 1st, Guro-gu announced that it will implement a business development expense support project for social enterprises to help establish a stable self-reliance foundation through technology development and market expansion.

The support targets certified or preliminary social enterprises located in Guro-gu. However, companies selected for this year's innovation-type projects and those receiving national or city government business development expense support are excluded.

Selected companies will receive a subsidy of up to 10 million KRW. The support amount may be adjusted based on the review results, and companies must bear at least 10% of the total project cost.

Companies wishing to apply should bring a business plan, social enterprise certification, and other required documents to the Employment Support Division of the district office from the 2nd to the 4th. For more details, refer to the announcement section on the district office website.

Guro-gu plans to select supported companies by evaluating the appropriateness of the business plan, the adequacy of the requested amount, project execution capability, and social contribution performance.

Priority will be given to (preliminary) social enterprises expected to have employment effects and sales growth.

A Guro-gu official stated, "This business development expense support can be an opportunity for capable social enterprises to take a step forward," and added, "We encourage many social enterprises in the region to apply."
