According to Daegu City on the 31st, an 80-year-old woman who was receiving treatment at Daegu Medical Center died at around 11:35 p.m. the previous night. This woman, who suffered from dementia and diabetes, was a patient admitted to Hansarang Nursing Hospital in Seo-gu, where a cluster infection occurred within the hospital. She underwent a full COVID-19 screening at the nursing hospital on March 17 and was confirmed positive the following day.
Earlier, on the night of the 29th, a 74-year-old man who was being treated at the same hospital died. This man, who suffered from schizophrenia, was infected at the Second Miju (Psychiatric) Hospital, where nearly 200 COVID-19 cases occurred, and after being transferred through National Masan Hospital and Kyungpook National University Hospital, he had been receiving treatment at Daegu Medical Center since the 4th.
Meanwhile, in the Daegu area, a man in his 50s who returned from the United States was confirmed positive on the 30th, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the region to 6,693 as of midnight on the 31st.
