Over 10,000 Apply for LG 'Tone Free' Experience Group "Huge Success" Premium Wireless Earbuds 'Tone Free' New Model (Model Number: HBS-TFN6) Image


[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 31st that the recruitment event for the experience group held ahead of the official launch of the premium wireless earphones ‘LG Tone Free’ received enthusiastic interest from customers.


LG Electronics recruited 200 members for the LG Tone Free customer experience group ‘Tone Mate’ for a week starting from the 22nd, and reported that more than 13,000 consumers applied.


It was explained that the average daily number of applicants reached 2,000, attracting more interest than expected. This is the first time LG Electronics has recruited a customer experience group in conjunction with the launch of wireless earphones.


About half of the total applicants were aged 20 or younger. LG Electronics believes that the new product design, reminiscent of small, round macaron cookies, especially drew responses from the younger age group.


LG Electronics applies Meridian Audio’s proprietary signal processing and tuning technology to the new Tone Free product. LG Tone Free is the only product in the wireless earphone industry to apply Meridian’s acoustic tuning.


The new product adopts a canal-type design where the speaker part is inserted into the ear, featuring an ergonomic design that places the center of gravity on the part worn in the ear, significantly upgrading the wearing comfort compared to the previous model. It also includes wireless charging functionality in the storage and charging case, as well as the ‘UVnano’ feature that sterilizes 99.9% of harmful bacteria such as E. coli.


LG Electronics’ strategy is to sequentially launch a lineup ranging from top-tier premium to reasonably priced products, considering customer preferences for specifications and price ranges, to respond to diverse customer demands. In the second half of the year, products with noise-canceling functions will also be released.
