Jeju Island Confirms Visit by Gyeonggi-do Woman Diagnosed with COVID-19... Epidemiological Investigation Underway (Update)

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced on the 30th that it confirmed that Mr. A, who was diagnosed with COVID-19 in Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, visited Jeju from May 25 to 27, and immediately launched a related epidemiological investigation.


According to health authorities, after finishing sightseeing in Jeju and returning to Gunpo-si, Mr. A developed symptoms such as fever and muscle pain on the 29th, visited a screening clinic around 5:30 PM that day to have a specimen collected, and was confirmed positive for COVID-19 at 11 AM on the 30th.


Initial epidemiological investigation confirmed that Mr. A entered Jeju on May 25 together with 24 acquaintances.


Jeju Province plans to conduct an epidemiological investigation starting from the 27th, two days before the onset of symptoms, in accordance with the Central Disease Control Headquarters' COVID-19 response guidelines. Jeju Province will promptly investigate Mr. A's movements and contacts, isolate close contacts, and carry out disinfection of visited locations.


Additionally, on-site investigations using CCTV are currently underway, and if further information about movements is confirmed, it will be promptly disclosed.
