[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that one additional confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) occurred on the 29th.
The 35th confirmed case in Eunpyeong (male, resident of Yeokchon-dong, Eunpyeong-gu) was found to have had contact with a confirmed case in Gangbuk-gu. Asymptomatic, he visited the Eunpyeong-gu Public Health Center screening clinic at 10 a.m. on the 29th for testing and was finally confirmed positive at 6:20 p.m. the same day. He has been transferred to a nationally designated isolation ward (Seonam Hospital).
Among a total of 18 contacts of the confirmed case, 13 people including family members have completed testing and received negative results, while 5 people are still undergoing testing as of 10 a.m. on the 30th.
Disinfection of the confirmed case’s residence and surrounding areas has been completed. Additional information confirmed through epidemiological investigation will be disclosed on the Eunpyeong-gu Office website.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “We recognize the recent multiple confirmed cases in the metropolitan area as a very concerning situation. We once again ask residents to strictly adhere to social distancing in daily life and personal quarantine guidelines.”
