District appoints 2 new honorary reporters on 29th... Discovering local news through field coverage and good news stories

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) appointed two new honorary reporters for the Dongdaemun-gu newsletter at 10:20 AM on the 29th to publish a newsletter that communicates with residents.
The district has been operating an honorary reporter group since 2006 to create a newsletter where residents directly participate and communicate, rather than just unilaterally informing residents about district administration.
The honorary reporters participate as journalists themselves, delivering unique local news such as neighborhood good news stories through on-site coverage, and play a role in gathering residents' opinions to facilitate communication.
Including the newly appointed honorary reporters Kim Du-nam and Park Su-yeon, the group consists of eight residents active in various fields who carry out tasks such as ▲on-site coverage of events by neighborhood ▲discovering good news stories ▲promoting various policies ▲participating in newsletter production meetings ▲collecting residents' opinions.
In particular, the district selected new honorary reporters from neighborhoods where existing honorary reporters are not affiliated, to vividly convey more diverse local news from the residents' perspective.
Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “I hope that all honorary reporters of the Dongdaemun-gu newsletter, including those newly appointed today, will discover many good news and unknown good stories in the community from the residents' point of view and widely share them through quality articles.”
