[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] BTS member Suga revealed the behind-the-scenes story of his second mixtape 'D-2,' released on the 22nd under the stage name Agust D.
On the 27th, Suga said through BTS's YouTube channel 'BANGTANTV,' "'D-2' feels like a mixtape that has taken a step forward."
On this day, he explained about the title track of the mixtape, "Daechwita," "It is background music played when the king moves, and I actually sampled Daechwita to create it. It is an audibly interesting song, and furthermore, I put a lot of effort into the music video, so it is visually satisfying as well."
Regarding the 'Daechwita' music video, Suga said, "I thought it would be good to film it on a historical drama set, and while revising the scenario, I clearly communicated the scenes I wanted, making the work enjoyable." In the 'Daechwita' music video set against a palace backdrop, Suga showed a unique charm by playing two different characters.
About the Chun geommu (sword dance) in the 'Daechwita' music video, he revealed, "I had never done it before, so I struggled during practice. I used an actual Joseon Hwandodo (a type of sword) made by a master, and I didn't realize it was that heavy. It was a new experience."
Finally, Suga expressed gratitude to fans, saying, "'D-2' is purely music made for the fans," and added, "I hope people recognize that 'he makes this kind of music, he has a lot to say, and he constantly strives and agonizes,' and listen to it and enjoy it to their heart's content."
