[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases related to the Coupang Bucheon Logistics Center has increased to a total of 37 in Incheon alone.
On the 28th, Incheon City announced that four residents of Gyeyang-gu and two residents of Bupyeong-gu were newly confirmed positive for COVID-19 in connection with the Coupang Bucheon Logistics Center.
Among them, A (28, male), a resident of Gyeyang-gu, is known to be an employee of the Coupang Goyang branch. It is presumed that A was infected through contact with a 19-year-old male resident of Bupyeong-gu who works at the Coupang Bucheon Logistics Center and was previously confirmed positive.
The other three confirmed cases are employees of the Coupang Bucheon Logistics Center, and two are contacts of confirmed cases related to the logistics center.
Including a 19-year-old male resident of Jung-gu, Incheon, who was previously confirmed positive, seven new cases were confirmed in Incheon on this day. As of the morning of this day, the number of confirmed cases related to the Coupang Bucheon Logistics Center in Incheon increased from 30 the previous day to 37.
The highest number of cases is among residents of Bupyeong-gu with 17, followed by 15 in Gyeyang-gu, 2 in Yeonsu-gu, and 1 in Jung-gu. One resident of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, and one resident of Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, who were tested for COVID-19 in Incheon, were also included in Incheon’s statistics.
Incheon City has completed testing for 1,453 out of 1,569 people subject to testing, including Coupang Bucheon Logistics Center employees and their contacts. Among them, 37 tested positive, 1,070 tested negative, and 346 are currently undergoing testing.
