[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] With the expansion of remote medical support due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Neofect's remote rehabilitation medical service business is expected to grow rapidly. It has received approval for the first official product support program from a state government since entering the U.S. market.
On the 28th, Neofect announced that it had received approval from the Massachusetts state government for a product support program for rehabilitation medical devices and solutions targeting TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) patients.
Accordingly, TBI patients undergoing rehabilitation training at Neofect’s U.S. medical clinic, Community Rehab Care, located in Boston, Massachusetts, the center of the bio-medical industry, can receive Neofect’s products free of charge through state government funding, enabling them to perform rehabilitation training alone not only at the clinic but also at home. This marks the full activation of Neofect’s remote rehabilitation medical service business.
Neofect’s home rehabilitation platform integrates AI (Artificial Intelligence) programs to recommend training optimized for the patient’s condition. Patients can continuously perform professional rehabilitation training at home without visiting the hospital, and through the remote rehabilitation solution, they can receive precise coaching under the guidance of the Community Rehab Care medical staff.
A Neofect official stated, “Due to the COVID-19 situation, the U.S. is very proactive in expanding remote medical services, including expanding the scope of public health insurance coverage and the FDA’s new remote medical guidelines,” adding, “With this state government support, the number of patients receiving rehabilitation training at Community Rehab Care is expected to increase significantly, and patients will be able to achieve tangible rehabilitation outcomes through consistent training via remote rehabilitation.”
He continued, “Because of factors such as low accessibility to medical services and high medical costs in the U.S., the remote medical industry inevitably develops,” and added, “We will strive to raise awareness of Neofect’s products and remote rehabilitation solutions and provide differentiated remote rehabilitation medical services across all regions.”
Earlier this year, Neofect acquired the U.S. medical corporation Community Rehab Care, based in Boston, Massachusetts. Established in 1996, it is a rehabilitation clinic licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, focusing intensively on brain injury specialized programs. Neofect is considering additional acquisitions of medical clinics starting with Massachusetts.
