[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Apple has started recruiting related personnel to expand Apple Stores in South Korea.

According to industry sources on the 27th, Apple Korea recently posted job openings related to retail positions. The positions being recruited include Store Leader, Technical Specialist, Business Expert, Genius, Creative, Manager, and Apple Store Leader Program.

In the job postings, Apple specified the work location as "various locations within South Korea" instead of "Garosugil." This means that employees will work at stores other than the first Apple Store in Garosugil, and it appears that Apple is hiring personnel needed to prepare for the opening of the second store.

Apple Stores offer product experience, purchase, repair, refurbishment, consultation, and education services. The Genius Bar at Apple Stores provides repair services handled by Geniuses, and sessions such as video, coding, design, and fitness are directly taught by Apple’s Creative staff.

The most likely location for the second Apple Store in South Korea is Myeongdong. It is known that the Apple Store will be located in the lower floors of "Centerpoint Myeongdong," which is being built on the site opposite the main Lotte Department Store and where the former Kookmin Bank Myeongdong main branch was located. This building is planned to be completed next year, with a height of three basement levels to 17 floors above ground.

A real estate industry official said, "There have been rumors that Apple Store and others will move in, but at this point, we cannot confirm it," adding, "Foreign companies are particularly sensitive, so the contracting brand name cannot be disclosed."
