[Photo] Sangyong Lee Appointed as New Chairman of Yongsan Welfare Foundation

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 26th, Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan District, presented a certificate of appointment to Lee Sang-yong, the new chairman of the Yongsan Welfare Foundation.

The new chairman, Lee, is the chairman of Hamilton Tourism and has been dedicated to regional development and social contribution for the past 40 years.

The foundation's board of directors held an extraordinary meeting on the 7th and elected Chairman Lee as the 2nd chairman. Approval from Seoul City was also obtained on the 25th.

The former 1st chairman was Seung Man-ho, CEO of Seobu T&D, who served for four years.

The new chairman said, "I am grateful to the directors who trusted me and elected me as chairman," adding, "I consider this my final service in Yongsan and will do my best to operate the foundation."

The Yongsan Welfare Foundation is a regional social welfare hub institution. Established in May 2016, it has secured a principal fund of 10.17 billion KRW with support from various sectors. Major projects include support for low-income crisis families and scholarships for youth.

Mayor Seong Jang-hyun said, "I pay tribute to Chairman Seung Man-ho, who laid the foundation of the foundation over the past four years," and added, "I look forward to the vigorous activities of the new chairman Lee Sang-yong."
