The two companies plan to introduce next-generation education services that combine KT's immersive media technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) with Cheonjae Education's educational content. KT will oversee the development of education platforms and educational solutions utilizing VR and AR, while Cheonjae Education will plan curricula and develop learning content. The service will first be provided to customers through KT's Super VR. In the future, they plan to develop educational content for schools and public institutions and also work to activate the B2B market in the online education sector.
Kim Hoon-bae, Executive Vice President and Head of KT's Customer Business Division, stated, “The importance of next-generation online education infrastructure has become more urgent amid unexpected changes in learning environments such as online school openings due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Through cooperation with Cheonjae Education, KT will take the lead in providing innovative education services and environments that overcome the limitations of non-face-to-face interactions through immersive media technologies and services.”
