Gangnam-gu Completes Delivery of Quarantine Supplies in Preparation for In-Person Classes

650,000 Dental Masks, 47,000 Hand Sanitizers, and Paper Towels for 113 Kindergartens and Schools

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) delivered COVID-19 prevention supplies such as masks and hand sanitizers to 113 kindergartens and schools in the area on the 27th, ahead of the return to in-person classes, to ensure the health and safety of students.

Since last month, the district has collected field opinions from the Office of Education and schools, distributing a total of 650,000 dental masks, 10 masks per student, to approximately 65,000 students enrolled in kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools. In addition, 47,000 hand sanitizers and about 3 million KRW worth of liquid soap and paper towels per school were also provided.

Earlier, the district conducted disinfection for 65 emergency care classrooms in kindergartens and elementary schools last month, delivering sterilizing disinfectants, and has been working to create a safe educational environment by distributing 60,000 dental masks to 3,000 private academies.

Lee Mi-hwa, Director of the Education Support Division, said, “For a dignified Gangnam that practices togetherness, consideration, and respect, we ask families to actively guide their children to comply with personal hygiene, such as wearing masks when attending school.”
