[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Premium Outlet Gwangmyeong will be rebranded as ‘Lotte Mall Gwangmyeong’ on the 29th.
Since opening near Gwangmyeong Station in 2014, Lotte Premium Outlet Gwangmyeong has established itself as an ‘urban outlet’ selling various fashion brand products at discounted prices. The newly opening ‘Lotte Mall Gwangmyeong’ will add trendier brands and enhance competitiveness by incorporating content that can increase customer dwell time, such as a golf studio and an art rental shop, transforming into a complex shopping culture space.
Lotte Premium Outlet Gwangmyeong has been preparing for the transition to a complex shopping mall since last year. In January last year, a cultural center facility offering classes linked to new content entering Gwangmyeong, such as a pet total shop and golf studio, was opened. This is the second cultural center to open inside a Lotte Outlet, following the Gunsan branch.
In June last year, the gardening caf? ‘Greenish,’ decorated like a garden, was opened targeting customers who enjoy plant-based interior design (planterior) and gardening. In July, the pet total shop ‘Mimingko,’ combining a pet caf? where customers can relax with their pets and a play area called ‘Pet Park,’ was introduced, successfully attracting pet owners living in Gwangmyeong.
Efforts were also made to attract customers in their 20s and 30s by bringing in popular restaurants trending on social networking services (SNS) and fashion brands favored by young customers. In November last year, ‘Publique,’ a French authentic bakery famous on SNS, was introduced, and in April this year, the well-known brunch caf? ‘Flare B’ from Dogok-dong was added.
Fashion and accessory brands targeting young customers have been introduced. In May this year, ‘Gallery O’clock’ and ‘Louis Quatorze’ opened, and on the 29th, ‘Uniqlo’ will open.
Experiential attraction content to bring in middle-aged new customers who enjoy golf has also been introduced. On the 10th, the first indoor golf studio in the distribution industry, ‘QED Golf Academy,’ was opened. This studio is equipped with various facilities including private lesson rooms, shower rooms, locker rooms, and a cafeteria.
Additionally, on the opening day of Gwangmyeong Mall, ‘Gallery K,’ an art rental shop targeting art consumers (customers seeking cultural satisfaction), will open. This gallery, the first of its kind to officially enter the industry, sells and rents artworks by 28 artists. On the opening day of ‘Gallery K,’ artist Omancheol will perform a fusion of ceramic art and painting, and next to the ‘Gallery K’ store, a ‘Flower Flea Market’ event to support flower farms will be held until June 7.
Seo Yongseok, manager of Lotte Mall Gwangmyeong, said, “Gwangmyeong Mall has succeeded in bringing in various content that can increase customer dwell time, such as a pet total shop, golf studio, and art rental shop. Lotte Gwangmyeong Mall will maintain the affordable prices of a premium outlet while becoming a complex shopping culture space equipped with trendy brands and differentiated attraction content.”
