It added, "Our field unit responded appropriately according to the manual in response to the North Korean military's shooting at that time."
Earlier that day, the United Nations Command announced that a multinational special investigation team concluded that both South and North Korea violated the armistice agreement in the North Korean GP shooting incident. A UN Command official added, "However, it could not be definitively determined whether the four shots were intentional or accidental."
The investigation led by the UN Command's multinational special investigation team was conducted with active cooperation from the South Korean military, and information was also requested from the North Korean military, but no official response was provided.
