Strengthening Global Competitiveness in Advanced Materials, Inauguration Ceremony of the Advanced Rubber Materials Support Center Held
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The KTR Advanced Rubber Materials Support Center, located in Haeryong Industrial Complex, Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do (Haeryongsandan-gil 4-ro 14), held its completion ceremony on the 26th.
The ceremony was attended by about 100 people, including KTR (Korea Testing & Research Institute) President Kwon Oh-jung, related organizations, and businesspeople.
The newly completed KTR Advanced Rubber Materials Support Center consists of a 4-story research building and a 2-story rubber compounding building. With a total project cost of approximately 22.7 billion KRW, including 10 billion KRW from the national government, 3.5 billion KRW from Jeollanam-do, and 5 billion KRW from Suncheon City, it will establish testing, evaluation, commercialization systems, and standardization frameworks necessary for advanced rubber materials R&D, supporting the revitalization of the rubber materials industry.
In particular, by supporting the development of high value-added rubber materials used in aerospace, automotive, and electrical and electronic sectors, it is expected to strengthen global competitiveness in high-strength, high-heat-resistant, ultra-low temperature advanced rubber materials, as well as rapidly increasing demand for high value-added rubber materials.
A Suncheon City official stated, “Through the KTR Advanced Rubber Materials Support Center located in Haeryong Industrial Complex, Suncheon City expects technological independence in rubber products and the development of the domestic rubber industry, and we will spare no administrative support needed in the future.”
