Gwangju City to Distribute 265 Hydrogen Electric Vehicles This Year Gwangju City Hall

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 26th that it will distribute 265 hydrogen electric vehicles this year.

Of the 265 vehicles, 200 will be distributed to general individuals and corporations, and 65 will be allocated to priority recipients such as vulnerable groups, families with multiple children, first-time vehicle buyers, early scrapping support recipients for old diesel vehicles, and residents near hydrogen charging station construction sites.

In particular, reflecting Gwangju City's intention to expand hydrogen charging stations considering the correlation between hydrogen electric vehicles and hydrogen charging stations, residents near hydrogen charging station construction sites were included as priority recipients.

Also, to allow many citizens to receive subsidies for hydrogen electric vehicles, individuals purchasing two or more hydrogen electric vehicles within two years will be excluded from subsidy eligibility.

The target recipients for hydrogen electric vehicle distribution are citizens who have resided in Gwangju for more than 90 days, and companies and organizations with business locations in the Gwangju area, with distribution planned in order of vehicle delivery.

Applicants wishing to purchase hydrogen electric vehicles who qualify for subsidy support (including corporations) can receive subsidies for only one vehicle in principle. The subsidy amount per vehicle is 32.5 million KRW.

Citizens wishing to purchase can fill out the application form posted in the announcement section on the city’s website and submit the documents to dealerships starting from the 27th.

Meanwhile, 493 hydrogen electric vehicles have been distributed and are in operation in Gwangju. There are two hydrogen charging stations, Donggok Charging Station and Jingok Charging Station, and a total of seven hydrogen charging stations are planned to be expanded and operated by next year.
