Preparations and Commitment for School Quarantine and Safe Academic Schedule Management

Gyeongnam Provincial Superintendent of Education Park Jong-hoon Issues Statement on School Attendance Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Police Agency

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] The Superintendent of Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education issued a related statement in response to the first phase of in-person classes starting on the 27th.

This statement was made to dispel social concerns about in-person classes, to inform about the preparation status of the Gyeongnam Office of Education for safe in-person classes, to declare a strong commitment, and to request active cooperation from the residents and the educational community.

Superintendent Park Jong-hoon of Gyeongsangnam-do first stated, "Sufficient supplies for school disinfection have already been secured, and a thorough school disinfection system considering student movement has been established." He continued, "To protect students' right to learn, if an emergency situation occurs, in-person classes will immediately switch to remote classes, and high-quality remote class management and curriculum operation to minimize student density will be implemented."

He also urged residents and the educational community to actively participate in complying with personal hygiene rules, practicing social distancing in daily life, and refraining from entering multi-use facilities.

Superintendent Park added, "The consideration of adults for the community will be a protective fence that guards our students. I earnestly ask everyone to join together with one heart to overcome this crisis."

He went on to say, "Just as a crisis is an opportunity, enduring this emergency situation has allowed our Office of Education to experience growth once again. Education is not only about what happens inside schools, and I have come to realize anew that healthy education is possible only when society is safe."

Finally, he pledged, "The Gyeongnam Office of Education and its approximately 50,000 faculty and staff will quietly do their best to pursue the essence of education and realize education that prioritizes students."

This statement will be provided to the residents of Gyeongsangnam-do and the educational community through the Office of Education, its affiliated institutions, education support offices, and school websites.
