[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Former Democratic Party lawmaker Choi Min-hee said that the claim by Grandma Lee Yong-soo, who raised issues about donations to the Justice and Memory Foundation (Jeonguiyeondae), that "(the grandmothers) could not eat" is not true.

In an interview with CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' on the 26th, former lawmaker Choi said, "The claim that they could not eat or that there was no heating cost cannot be true. I am telling you this because facts are facts."

Choi explained, "As the name changed to Jeonguiyeondae, this movement expanded to the Asian level and became a global human rights movement. There are 12 purpose projects, and victim support is one part of them. We made every effort to use the donations according to their intended purpose, but if someone says to spend the raised money on feeding an individual, that cannot be done."

She added, "Honestly, I cannot understand why Grandma Lee Yong-soo would show such strong resistance to Yoon Mi-hyang becoming a member of the National Assembly."

Choi further said, "Are all people who become lawmakers selfish, or does this mean that Yoon Mi-hyang personally should never become a lawmaker? There is a lot to do in the National Assembly."

Earlier, on the 25th, Grandma Lee Yong-soo, a victim of the Japanese military sexual slavery, revealed at the second press conference held at the Inter-Burgo Hotel in Suseong-gu, Daegu, "Even when I was hungry and asked for something delicious, (Democratic Party lawmaker-elect Yoon Mi-hyang) said 'there is no money'."
