Jaguar Land Rover Korea Supports Blood Donation Campaign and Emergency Blood Donation Service Vehicles

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Jaguar Land Rover Korea announced on the 26th that it will conduct the “Blood Donation Campaign with Land Rover and the Korean Red Cross” for one month until the 25th of next month. This campaign was prepared to help stabilize blood supply and promote blood donation culture amid the ongoing situation where the blood stock level remains far below the appropriate five-day supply due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before the start of the blood donation campaign, Jaguar Land Rover Korea held a ceremony on the 25th at the “Jaguar Land Rover Training Academy” located in Sunnae-dong, Bundang, to announce the launch of the campaign and to deliver emergency blood donation service vehicles in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross. The event was attended by Baek Jeong-hyun, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover Korea, and Cho Nam-seon, Director of the Blood Management Headquarters of the Korean Red Cross, among others.

Jaguar Land Rover Korea is supporting four units of the Land Rover premium family SUV, the New Discovery Sport, as emergency blood donation service vehicles to assist the Korean Red Cross in smoothly carrying out blood donation operations. The Korean Red Cross, having received the vehicles, plans to deploy one vehicle each to the Seoul Eastern Blood Center and Gangwon Blood Center for blood donation promotion activities, and one vehicle each to the Jeonbuk branch and Gwangju Jeonnam branch for social service and relief activities.

In addition, Jaguar Land Rover Korea, retailer company employees, and affiliated company staff will encourage voluntary participation in blood donation and collect blood donation certificates for donation. On the day, Baek Jeong-hyun, CEO, and employees of Jaguar Land Rover Korea actively participated in the campaign by boarding the blood donation bus, donating blood, and donating certificates.

Furthermore, Land Rover will actively encourage participation in the blood donation campaign through online events on its official SNS channels. Content highlighting the importance of blood donation will be posted on Land Rover’s official Facebook and Instagram, and among those who donate blood and participate in the event, prizes such as Apple Watches, Land Rover lifestyle collections, and Starbucks gift cards will be awarded by lottery. Additionally, Jaguar Land Rover Korea will conduct blood donation promotion activities and publicity for one month at the Jaguar Land Rover Training Academy located near Sunnae Station in Bundang, Gyeonggi Province.

Baek Jeong-hyun, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover Korea, said, “Jaguar Land Rover is working together to overcome the unprecedented crisis caused by COVID-19 worldwide, including in Korea,” and added, “We hope everyone will take an interest and actively participate to overcome the serious blood supply shortage, which is below the appropriate stock level.”
