[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] The showdown between the 'Major Queens' on the screen ended in a draw.

Inbee Park (32, KB Financial Group) and So-yeon Ryu (30, Mediheal) recorded 1 win and 1 loss against Lydia Ko (New Zealand) and Pernilla Lindberg (Sweden) on the 25th at the Golfzon LPGA Match Play Challenge (total prize money $10,000). This was a 2-on-2 match play event held simultaneously at Golfzon Joymaru in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, and the World Golf Hall of Fame in the World Golf Village, St. Augustine, Florida, USA.

Utilizing Golfzon's screen golf system and online network technology, the venues in Korea and the United States were connected via live video for the event. With the US Women's Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour suspended due to the impact of COVID-19, golf fans worldwide focused their attention on this event. The battleground was the Black Course at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, New York, USA. Lydia Ko and Lindberg won the first round 18-hole foursome (two players alternate shots with one ball) by one hole.

Park and Ryu achieved a decisive victory by 5 holes in the second round 18-hole four-ball (two players each play their own ball and the better score is counted). The prize money will be donated as a fund to overcome COVID-19. In an interview, Inbee Park said, "It was enjoyable to play a game that wasn't really a game after a long time," and "I was happy to be able to laugh a lot." So-yeon Ryu also smiled brightly, saying, "In actual competitions, I hide my emotions, but today it was nice not to do so."
