"Overcoming COVID-19" LG HelloVision Conducts Untact Volunteer Activities

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] LG HelloVision announced on the 26th that it will carry out 'untact volunteer activities' such as a crayon sharing campaign to remind the meaning of resource recycling.

LG HelloVision has been supporting vulnerable groups through various untact volunteer programs as the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) continues. Through remote volunteering, in March, they made and delivered hygiene products such as masks and soap. In April, they created air-purifying plant frames and delivered them to elderly people living alone in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area.

This time, they prepared an 'untact crayon reprocessing volunteer activity' together with the youth NGO 'Olmgim'. The program participation target was expanded to include employees' families. The purpose is to share the value of resource recycling and volunteer activities with families in celebration of Family Month.

They are also conducting a 'Sleeping Crayon Donation Campaign.' They focused on the fact that as students advance to higher grades, the frequency of crayon use decreases, leaving many crayons neglected in desks. Crayons donated by employees through the crayon sharing space set up at the headquarters are reprocessed by 'Olmgim' and used for art education for underprivileged children. In addition, they prepared a 'Braille Fairy Tale Making' volunteer activity. Forty employees translate sentences from fairy tales into Braille and attach them as stickers to books to produce Braille books. The completed books are donated to families in need through the Daegu City Association of the Visually Impaired.
