"Is Golf a Deadly Sin?"... Trump Plays Two Days in a Row

"Even if we waited 3 years instead of 3 months, the media would have attacked again"
"No one talks about Obama's golf"

[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] U.S. President Donald Trump reacted irritably to critical articles reporting that he played golf for two consecutive days during the Memorial Day holiday.

On the 25th (local time), President Trump mentioned articles covering his golf outings on his Twitter, saying, "Fake and totally corrupt news made it sound as if going to the golf course was a deadly sin," and added, "I knew this would happen!"

President Trump continued, "What they don't say is that this was the first time I played golf in almost three months," and "Even if I had waited three years, they would have attacked me anyway as usual." He then fiercely criticized the media, saying, "They are sick with hatred and dishonesty. Truly crazy."

He also expressed dissatisfaction that the media did not cover former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden as much. President Trump said, "They (the media) do not mention sleepy Joe's poor work ethic or all the time Obama spent on the golf course."

He then brought up again the fact that former President Obama enjoyed golf, attempting a counterattack.

The congressional media outlet The Hill noted, "President Trump mentioned Obama and Biden to defend himself against criticism of his golf."

President Trump's anger stemmed from a political advertisement criticizing him for leisurely playing golf during the Memorial Day holiday while the U.S. COVID-19 death toll was approaching 100,000, and directly stating, "The president should be doing much more than tweeting from a golf cart."

Both Trump and Obama are presidents who enjoyed golf. Articles comparing the number of golf rounds played by the two are easy to find. President Obama played golf 306 times during his eight years in office. He was criticized for playing golf even during the Bin Laden raid and typhoon disasters.

President Trump is now no less. Since taking office, Trump has visited golf courses 251 times and played 119 rounds, according to reports.
