According to local media on the 24th, during the first week after the Hyundai Motor Chennai plant resumed operations, three employees who showed mild cough and cold symptoms underwent COVID-19 testing and were confirmed positive, currently receiving treatment.
A local government official explained that the test results for 16 other employees who may have come into contact with the confirmed COVID-19 cases are expected within two days.
Meanwhile, the Chennai plant had halted operations on March 22 to prevent the spread of COVID-19 but resumed operations from the 8th of this month. Despite the confirmed cases, the Chennai plant is expected to continue operating.
