[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province announced that a 52-year-old woman, Ms. A, living in Ganeung-dong, was confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) on the 24th.
It was confirmed that this woman had visited Eunhye Church in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul on the 15th.
Previously, related to Eunhye Church, seven people including a church evangelist on the 20th and a pastor of Hwadourri Church in Namyangju on the following day were confirmed positive for COVID-19.
Ms. A attends a church in Uijeongbu City but had not participated in worship services so far, mostly staying at home and only briefly going out on foot. On the 20th, she developed flu-like symptoms and was classified as a contact after the Namyangju pastor was confirmed positive, leading her to undergo testing on the 23rd.
Ms. A was transferred to Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Suwon Hospital for treatment. Additionally, one family member and 11 contacts have been placed under self-quarantine and are undergoing diagnostic testing.
